Miranda Lambert and Elle King are celebrating a new number one. The pair’s duet “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” tops the “Billboard” Country Airplay chart this week.

The new number one marks the first time in 30 years that a duet by two women has topped the chart. The last time was in November, 1993 when Reba McEntire’s “Does He Love You,” with Linda Davis, went to number one.

@elleking is one of my favorite artists and one of my favorite people to be around. I am proud to call her my friend and I’m so glad she asked me to do song this song with her,” Miranda shares. “The fact that a duet by 2 women hasn’t been a number 1 in country music since 1993 is crazy to me,” adding, “So the fact that we got here today means even more because it’s bigger than us…"

Elle adds, “I can’t believe it! Drunk is #1! Thank you so much to Country Radio for giving me and my girl Miranda a shot. And to all of the country fans out there, I LOVE YOU! The life of this song has taught me so much, everything has its own time and path. And when in doubt, add @mirandalambert!!!”

Elsewhere on the chart…

  • Thomas Rhett’s “Where We Started” debuts at two on the “Bibllboard” Top Country Albums chart, moving 29,000 equivalent album units.
