Maddie & Tae’s Taylor Kerr Share’s Her Daughter’s Birth Story

As we told you, Maddie & Tae’s Taylor Kerr just shared a family photo on what was supposed to be her daughter Leighton’s due date. Well, now to mark the day, Maddie is sharing Leighton’s birth story.

“My husband and I wanted to let you in on what life looked like the last four months and through the pregnancy,” Tae shares in a new video. “Quite a lot has gone down.”

Leighton was born at only 28 weeks, with Tae explaining that doctors first noticed a problem with her cervix at 24 weeks, and sent her to the hospital, where she was put on bed rest. She and husband Josh spent Christmas and Josh's birthday in the hospital, and then two days after the birthday things “hit the fan” and Tae started having contractions, but they were able to stop the labor. 

They were able to make it to 27 weeks, which she felt was a “huge victory,” and at 28 weeks, and after five days of labor, Leighton was born on January 17^th. She spent 53 days in the NICU, with Tea saying her daughter “fought like hell,” and now that the baby is home they are “so so happy.” 

“This is her world, and we are just living in it,” Tae said. “We are soaking up every single second with our miracle baby.”
