Luke Combs is now officially a member of the Grand Ole Opry. The singer’s induction happened earlier this week, with Vince Gill on hand to formally welcome him into the into the prestigious country institution.
Vince was an appropriate choice to welcome Luke, with the singer sharing that when he was six he attended his first concert ever, Vince performing at a minor league baseball stadium, although his mom and grandmother snuck him in.
“I actually missed my favorite song that night because I started crying because there was thunder in the background, so we ended up leaving early,” Luke said backstage at the Opry. “I am looking forward to saying hello to him.”
Luke has certainly had a huge couple of years, with his debut album “This One’s For You” the best-selling country record of 2018, and landing five singles that have gone to number one.
“If people remember anything about what I’ve done, and I think I tell it to the crowd a lot too, is that if I can do this, you can do anything,” Luke shares. “I am the proof that you can do anything that you set your mind to.”
