Country fans headed to the desert this weekend for the annual Stagecoach Festival, where they were treated to sets by some of today’s biggest stars.

Luke Bryan headlined Friday night’s lineup, treating fans to a 90-minute set that opened with “Country Girl (Shake It For Me),” and included “All My Friends Say,” “Drink A Beer,” an appearance by Cole Swindell for “This Is How We Roll” and his latest single “Knockin’ Boots,” telling the crowd, “I got a brand new song, it talks about… it just talks about knockin’ damn boots. That’s all I’ve got to say. I’m ready to knock some damn boots tonight.”

It was certainly a hot one in Indio, California, with temps reaching the 100s, which prompted Luke to joke to the fans in the front who probably needed to go to the bathroom, “You can just piss down your leg and it’ll evaporate. That’s the best thing about the desert.”

Day two saw Sam Hunt as headliner, his first time headlining the fest, and he acknowledged to the crowd that it’s been a while since he put out a new album. “We haven’t been out here in a couple years, and I haven’t put out a whole lot of music in the last 24 months, but I want to thank you all for being patient,” he said. “I‘ve had a lot of changes in my life the past — I guess — two and a half years.” He also blamed Luke Bryan for the delay, noting, “I was planning on spending all last year to make a record, and he called and said, ‘Hey, you want to come out on tour with me?’ And I couldn’t pass it up.”

Sam's set featured many of his hits including "Breakup in a Small Town," and "Body Like A Back Road," and he also brought out Luke Combs, who played just before him, for a cover of Brooks & Dunn’s “Brand New Man,” and Sam then later covered Waylon Jennings’ “Belle of the Ball.”
