Keith Urban’s new album “Graffiti U” drops tomorrow and he says he came up with the title of the record while he was already “way into recording” it.
Keith explains that the record is “a very pure expression from me,” and he thought of the studio as a “blank canvas,” with the songs the art, and he says the word graffiti, “just kept coming to me.” As for the “U,” it’s meant to represent the audience, but instead of using the word “you,” he chose to go with his initial instead.
Keith is set to kick off a new tour with a performance at Stagecoach Festival on Saturday, and he’s excited to finally be playing these songs for an audience. He notes, “so many songs on this record are built for playing live.”
- ONE MORE THING! Keith was at his wife Nicole Kidman’s side when she attended the Time 100 Gala in New York, and she shared a sweet photo of them cuddling together in a car. She captioned it, “Great night last night, loved sharing it with my love.” At the event the pair had an encounter with Olympic skater Adam Rippon, and apparently it left a lasting impression. “I met Nicole Kidman earlier tonight and she even let me smell her husband,” he said during his speech. “If it wasn't for the words that my mom told me, 'Never give up on your dreams,' I would never have had that experience.”
