Miranda Lambert’s husband Brendan McLouglin is on a temporary leave of absence from the NYPD, and now a new report claims it may go from temporary to permanent.

A source tells Hollywood Life that while Brendon “had always planned on returning to the NYPD after taking a short hiatus from work,” he is now considering leaving his job to take one working for Miranda.

“As time has gone on, Miranda and Brendan have become so inseparable and love spending as much time together as they can,” the source notes. “They have discussed Brendan possibly not going back to the NYPD and instead serving as security for Miranda.”

The insider adds, “At this point, it’s definitely an option for them but no final decision has been made yet and it’s something that’s still being discussed. Brendan still has time to decide if he wants to go back or if he wants to change direction and stick by Miranda’s side.”

  • ONE MORE THING! Miranda is set to kick off her “Roadside Bars and Cheap Guitars” tour tonight, featuring special guests Maren Morris, Elle King, Caylee Hammack, Tenille Townes and Ashley McBryde, and it all the gals came together for a new song. Miranda just dropped the star-studded collaboration of a cover of “Fooled Around and Fell In Love,” which was originally recorded by Elvin Bishop. Check it out to the right.
  • Miranda also shared a little behind-the-scenes footage of tour rehearsals, noting she’s “ready to go, ready to get the show on the road.” Check it out to the right.
