Hunter Hayes wants to help keep folks safe on the road. The singer is starring in the Ad Council and NHTSA's new “Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving” campaign, where he aims to make people aware of the “warning signs” that they may be too buzzed to get behind the wheel.
"Just like in my song 'One Shot,' once you start drinking you don't always make the best decisions," Hayes shares in the ad. "That's why I know my buzzed warning signs. When I see one of these signs, I call a car or a friend instead of getting behind the wheel."
According to the NHTSA, men are four times more likely than women to be the alcohol impaired driver in a fatal car crash, so the PSAs are being aimed towards young men in the hopes they’ll make the right decision not to drive home after drinking. Check out the ads above.
Risks... some just aren’t worth taking. Find another way home if you’re over your limit. #BuzzedDriving is #DrunkDriving pic.twitter.com/CRq1L0qPsy
