Granger Smith has shared another video with fans, giving them an update on how he’s been doing since the death of his three-year-old son River earlier this month.
“Part of me wants to pack up the family and find some secluded cabin in Colorado and disappear, and never be heard from again," he admits in the video, adding, "I don't think most of you would blame me if I did that. I don't think it would be wrong if I did that." Granger says he and his family “are doing good,” but notes it’s a “different baseline of being good,” because he’s now a different person than he was and he’ll never be the same again.
Granger also admits that he struggles with whether or not to continue to be so open with fans on his YouTube channel, but shares that when they first started the channel they did it so they could “be positive role models,” and explains he feels “compelled to keep that going.”
- And Granger also opens up a bit more about what happened to River, letting fans know that their pool did have a child-lock gate around it, and River getting in seemed "virtually impossible,” but adding, “River found a way to accomplish the impossible several times."
"I was fifteen feet from this gate, which is something that will haunt me the rest of my life," he says. "I was fifteen feet from that water." He also notes that River swam in that pool every day, so they still don’t understand not only how he got in, but how he drowned. Finally, he notes, “You've got to love those around you today, right now, because the impossible does happen ... we just don't know." Check out the video to the right.
