Fender Musical Instruments just launched a new foundation to help bring music to more young people, and they’ve recruited several superstars to help them out. The new Fender Play Foundation is a non-profit with a goal of providing “resources and music education opportunities to equip, educate and inspire young players.”

As a way to help achieve their goal, the organization has recruited such stars as Chris Stapleton, Avril Lavigne, Ashley McBryde, Panic! At The Disco's Brendon Urie, Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt, and Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz to serve as the Fender Play Foundation Artist Ambassadors. As part of their duties they’ll take part in surprise instrument drops, local meet and greets, and more. They’ll also donate signed memorabilia and gear for auction, and help guide the foundation’s overall direction.

Over the next three years, the Fender Play Foundation’s goal is to raise $3 million for educational institutions and organizations that provide youth with opportunities to learn how to play. They will also support their artist ambassadors’ favorite charities that are similar to the foundation's mission. Their first step is to donate $1 million to support music education programs in Los Angeles, Nashville, and Scottsdale, Arizona, with plans to help more cities in 2020.
