Eric Church’s new album “Desperate Man” doesn’t drop until next Friday, but fans can actually listen to the record now, because it is streaming on NPR.
NPR notes that on “Desperate Man,” Church, “doesn't rely so much on the players' muscle to power the tracks,” noting he, “often takes the lead like a freewheeling solo performer would, his slyly virile singing and terse, leathery guitar playing exposed out front, creating its own capricious ebb and flow.” They also offer that the songs, “feel a little more like white-knuckled assertions of individual grit.” Check out the album streaming here.
- Meanwhile, lucky fans will likely get to hear Eric perform some of his new songs today, as he headlines the opening night of the Ohana Festival at at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, California. The festival’s other headliners include Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and Mumford & Sons.
