Eric Church On How Music Unites Us

As we told you, Eric Church talked about how music will be the thing that saves the world during his Entertainer of the Year acceptance speech at the CMA Awards, and now he’s elaborated a bit more on what he means by that.
“Everything we see in daily life is about division. It’s about where you line up. Music has nothing to do with division,” Eric shared backstage at the CMAs. “Music is about unity. It’s about uniting, and I truly believe in my heart that music will bring us out of all the sh*t we’re in right now.”
For Eric, music is “about putting your arm around the guy next to you. It’s about having that moment that you can share…It has nothing to do with anything other than the love of music.”
- Eric admits he was pretty shocked to win EOTY, especially in a year like this one. For him, the biggest win was everybody getting together for the show, noting, “that’s not happened this year,” adding, “So, I think that that was a win for country music, and I think it was a win for where we’re gonna go in the next year or two.”
