Eric Church brought his “Double Down Tour” to Greensboro, North Carolina this weekend, and he certainly gave fans in his home state an unexpected treat. The singer shared video of him walking out to greet his fans before the doors even opened at Greensboro Coliseum, much to their delight.

And that wasn’t the only surprise of the weekend. During both Friday and Saturday night’s shows he paid tribute to NASCAR Legend, the late, great Dale Earnhardt, by performing his number one song, “Talladega,” and bringing out a flag emblazoned with the Earnhardt’s No. 3 on it.

“Dad would love this,” Earnhardt’s son, Dale Earnhardt Jr. tweeted, “All his fans and family certainly appreciate the respect @ericchurch.” Check out video of Eric meeting his fans below.
