Dolly Parton has released another song from her upcoming album “Run Rose Run,” a companion album to her upcoming book of the same name. The latest track is “Blue Bonnet Breeze,” inspired by the moment the two characters in the book decide to write a song together.
“I thought, ‘What song would that be? What song would they write?,’” Dolly shares. “So, I just chose a ‘Romeo and Juliet’ kind of story and made the music very slow, very emotional, and it’s actually one of my very favorites from this album. It could be a movie of its own!”
The album is out March 4th and the book is due out March 7th.
- ONE MORE THING! As we told you, Dolly and goddaughter Miley Cyrus starred in a new T-Mobile Super Bowl commercial. The two-part ad has Dolly taking her phone out of her bra and showing her support for phones with 5G. “When I see a problem, I am going to fix it,” Parton says. “America’s got a serious problem, so I’m going to get it off my chest.”
- And…As we told you, Dolly is one of this year’s nominees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and she’s surprised by the nomination. "I was absolutely floored when I heard that," Dolly tells Billboard. "I’ve never thought of myself as being rock ’n’ roll in any sense of the word – but I guess they judge it on the music and the influence certain songs have had, and I guess I’ve had songs with other people in that realm." Dolly says she isn’t “expecting that I’ll get in,” adding, “But if I do, I’ll immediately, next year, have to put out a great rock ’n’ roll album – which I’ve wanted to do for years.”
