Country Music Reacts To CA Tragedy

The country music community continues to process the latest mass shooting in the U.S., this time at a country bar in Thousand Oaks, California.
A dozen people lost their lives at the Borderline Bar & Grill about 40 miles West of Los Angeles. Ten to fifteen others were wounded, and the suspect was killed as well (believed to be by his own hand).
But the connection to the country community is closer than the kind of bar the incident happened. Turns out, Aubrie Sellers - the daughter of Lee Ann Womack and songwriter Jason Sellers - had planned to be there Wednesday night. "Last night we were going to go line dancing at 9:30pm at a bar called Borderline we heard about in Thousand Oaks..." she tweeted. "An hour before we were to leave, I got home and [my cat] Laney ’s eye was swollen shut so we didn’t go. Thinking of everyone affected by this today. Truly unbelievable."
Here's what she, and other members of the country family are saying:

I’m saddened to wake up & hear that more innocent lives were taken last night in Thousand Oaks. It’s horrible and it feels like just yesterday when I was playing a show there. Sending prayers to everyone there, the families, and those all over the world affected by gun violence. pic.twitter.com/hT9qAdn9uP

Heartbroken for all the families that will go through today without someone they had yesterday. Completely senseless #ThousandOaks

My heart is broken waking up to the Borderline news. Another instance where people get together to have fun, ruined by a senseless act of violence. 😔

Waking up in NYC to the terrible news in California that 12 were killed in a country bar last night. 1 officer killed in the line of duty as he ran toward the shooter to save lives. Join me in asking the Holy Spirit to pull those families close this morning. #Californiashooting
