George Strait On Track To Break Personal Indoor Concert Attendance Record: At this point in his career, there are very few achievements left to accomplish for George Strait, but he's closing in on another this year. With just one Texas show on his tour schedule for 2024, demand for that show is so great that King George is all but assured to set a new personal record. Strait is on track to best his own all-time indoor attendance record of 104,793 set in 2014 at his final Cowboy Rides Away finale at AT&T Stadium. Announced March 19, his show at Kyle Field June 15 has already moved over 100-thousand tickets, so a new record is all but inevitable at this point.
Ryan Gosling Is All About Chris Stapleton In New "SNL" Promo: Who knew Ryan Gosling was such a Chris Stapleton uber-fan? In the new promo for "Saturday Night Live," Gosling is seen rehearsing how he'll introduce himself to Stapleton when the two guest on this week's episode. Eventually walking into Stapleton's empty dressing room, Gosling comes upon his trademark hat, which he cautiously approaches like Indiana Jones approaching treasure, before slowly putting it on. Gosling is the guest host, and Stapleton the musical guest on tomorrow night's episode.
Luke Combs Sings "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" - But Not The Version You Know: Luke Combs' "daddy songs" era continues. Sitting in the bleachers at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with his guitar prior to a stadium show, Luke strummed an original unreleased tune called "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" (not the traditional song you usually hear at ballparks). The lyrics describe a son who misses his father after the parents split up, asking him to come pick him up and "take (me) out to the ballgame."
CMT Music Awards Ratings Down Slightly: Sunday night's "CMT Music Awards" garnered some good news and not so good news when it comes to viewer ratings. First, the not so good news: the ratings for the awards show dipped slightly from a year ago. The good news, though: the awards show outperformed every major network broadcast at the 8pm. slot, beating "American Idol" (ABC), "The Voice" (NBC), and "The Simpsons" (Fox). Another possible plus: it does not seem that the TV Rating Guide counted the number of viewers who watched the show on Paramount+, so, the overall viewership could in fact be much larger than reported. Last year’s show had a 0.70 rating, compared to this year’s 0.68 rating. So, a mixed bag.
