We told you last month about Arizona Cardinals linebacker Jesse Luketa getting a flat on the way to a game and catching a ride with an Arizona family who happened to be heading to the game. Luketa scored the Phillips family friends and family access to the game that day and promised to get them tickets for a future game.

Recently, the football player made good on that promise. At the Cardinals’ home game against the 49ers, Luketa treated J. W. Phillips, his wife, and their three kids to a VIP experience at State Farm Stadium. He met the family at the entry with a bunch of Cardinals gear, including Luketa jerseys. The family was then escorted to their box seats and later got to meet back up with Luketa on the sidelines for a photo op.

Cardinals fans applauded the act of kindness online, saying that it shows how caring their players are. And the Phillips family was grateful for the special treatment, but the father was quick to point out that they’d have given Luketa a ride anyway. “It wasn’t the fact that he played football,” says J.W. Phillips, “We were just truly trying to help somebody out.”
