Was it faster-than-light travel? Cloning? Blake Shelton was announced to be performing at "Nashville's Big Bash," the country-music themed New Year's Eve celebration that featured big names like Morgan Wallen, Lainey Wilson...and Blake. But as viewers were tuned in to Blake performing with Trace Adkins on songs like "Hillbilly Bone" and "Hell Right," other Blake fans were nearly 700 miles away, readying to see Blake Shelton take the stage at the WinStar Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma. So what's the deal?
It appears that CBS was a little vague as to the nature of Blake's performance, which was pre-recorded. So while television viewers were seeing Blake do his thing, in Oklahoma he was in his dressing room getting ready to do his thing there - live. And the Internet wasn't happy.
One viewer on Twitter/X went so far as to call Blake "an embarrassment to country music" while another questioned how fast Blake's tour bus must be to make the trip from Tennessee to Oklahoma to play both gigs. And while some fans may have been dissatisfied with the canned Nashville performance, fans at his actual live performance in Oklahoma were considerably happier with what they witnessed.
On, and a PS: Morgan Wallen's performance was pre-recorded too.

It’s been so long since Blake sang this live. He did so so beautifully - one of the very few who can give this song justice
