Cam Channels Marilyn Monroe For “Classic” Video

Cam recently dropped the video for her latest single “Classic,” where she gets to channel Marilyn Monroe. The fun clip is filled with bright pink and furs, with Cam celebrating all the classic things that never go out of style, including her romance.
“I never enjoyed typically “feminine” things growing up- wasn’t into pink, shopping or cheerleading. I also thought keeping my distance from anything girly made me more ‘real,’” she shares of the clip. “Now I can see devaluing femininity in society is a way to keep power in specific hands. And devaluing femininity in ourselves keeps us from being whole. So here’s to all the pink dresses and lipstick I missed out on.”
“Classic” is the third song released off Cam’s next project, “The Otherside,” which had her working with a diverse group of writers. She shared in a recent interview that Harry Styles, Sam Smith and the late DJ Avicii helped write songs on the album. “The Otherside” is set to drop October 30th.
