Brandi Carlile headlined the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville this weekend for a livestream event that also featured a limited number of in-person fans. Those who caught the show were treated to a mix of Brandi hits, covers, and even a guest appearance by R&B star Monica.
Brandi kicked things off on her own with an acoustic rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” and was then joined by her band for the rest of the show, with a set list that included “Raise Hell,” The Story,” “The Eye,” “The Joke,” “Party of One” and more. The night also featured covers of Elton John’s “Madman Across the River,” and Joni Mitchell’s “A Case Of You,” as well as “The Wheels of Laredo,” from Tanya Tucker’s 2019 album.
As for Monica, she joined Brandi for a performance of The Highwomen’s “Crowded Table.” The show ended with a rendition of “Amazing Grace,” which featured The Secret Sisters’ Lydia Rogers.
- “What a feeling! It’s hard to describe what it felt like to be with you all last night...I mean everyone,” Brandi shared on Instagram. “Those of you at home and those of you in that room. So much love. It’s been a year since I heard people clap...or put on spanx for that matter. 😂 I have to laugh or I’d cry... all this is to say- thank you my friends.”
