The National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress has announced its annual list of 25 recordings that will be added to its list. One notable addition to the list this year? Mariah Carey’s holiday hit "All I Want for Christmas Is You."

The holiday classic was released in 1994 and has since become an inescapable part of the holiday season. The Library of Congress has decided the song should be preserved for all time now, along with other hits like “Like A Virgin” by Madonna, “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver, “Ode To Billy Joe” by Bobbi Gentry, and…the “Super Mario Bros.” theme from Nintendo (composer Koji Kondo, really).
