Alan Jackson’s career is being celebrated with the release of a new documentary, “Alan Jackson: Small Town Southern Man,” coming to DVD this week.
The DVD, released in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of Alan signing his first record contract with Arista Nashville (June 26th, 1989), features interviews with Alan, rarely seen performance footage and photos, as well as interviews with fellow country stars like Carrie Underwood, Alison Krauss and Lee Ann Womack.
Alan’s hometown of Newnan, Georgia is also celebrating his career with a newly-created exhibit on display at the Coweta County Visitors Center. The city also commissioned a two-story mural of Jackson on the side of a building at 11 North Court Square.
