He's proving he's powerful with or without the mullet. Samson may have been weakened when his hair was cut off, but Morgan Wallen is as powerful mulletless as he was with it. He just set a new record for the longest running solo hit at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
His "Last Night" just set a Billboard Hot 100 record - 16 weeks at #1. The song breaks out of a tie with Harry Styles' "As It Was" for the sole longest No. 1 run for a non-collaboration, while overall tying for the second-longest reign in the Hot 100's 65-year history. To set the all time record for most weeks at #1, he's got to stay on top for another month. The current record 19 weeks at #1, held by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus for "Old Town Road."
"Last Night" also passes "As It Was" for the longest #1 Hot 100 stay of the 2020s so far - as "Old Town Road" was back in 2019.
