Dan + Shay Top The Country Album Chart, And “Tequila” Tops The Country Airplay Chart

Dan + Shay’s
new self-titled album debuted at number six on the all-genre “Billboard” 200, with 44,000 equivalent album units, which means they’ve also debuted at number one on the Top Country Albums chart.

The album is now the pair’s second Top Country number one, following 2014’s “Where It All Began.”

And that’s not the only good news for Dan + Shay. Their latest single “Tequila” tops the Country Airplay chart, making it their fourth Country Airplay number one. It also makes them the first act to have both their album and song at number one since Blake Shelton did it with his album “If I’m Honest,” and the single “Came Here To Forget.”

“We knew we had something really special with ‘Tequila,’” Shay Mooneyshares. “But it wouldn’t have amounted to anything without the people who heard it and connected with it. We’re forever grateful.”
