Carrie Underwood has opened up about the accident that left her with a broken wrist and stiches in her face. In an interview with Bobby Bones, Carrie said the accident happened while she was walking her dogs.

"I was taking the dogs out and I just, I tripped," she says, "There was one step and I didn’t let go of the leashes. Priorities! So, that’s why my left hand is fine. I went to catch myself and just missed a step." She adds, "If I would’ve fallen anywhere else I would’ve looked just fine."

Carrie says she fell on her mouth which is where she needed stiches and admits she was initially worried about how her son Isaiah would react to the scar. “For a while, I was worried he would be scared of me,” she shares. “Now if I put makeup on, he’s like, ‘Mommy, your boo-boo is all gone.’”

  • Carrie triumphantly returned to the stage at the ACMs over the weekend, and while the performance was great, she certainly dealt with a lot of nerves beforehand. “There’s just been a lot that’s gone on in life over the past year, and it’s always really nerve-racking introducing new music,” she says. "So I was just super nervous and I felt like I had never been on a stage before.”
