Notes From The Road - It's Unusual
Travel

Look, we’ve all been there. A trip is coming up, you’ve got your itinerary, you’re getting excited about a new adventure and then…you see a travel calamity unfold on the evening news. No doubt you’ve seen the latest Spirit and Alaskan mishaps and some of you may be worried something along those lines is going to happen to you. Well, allow me to assuage your concerns and this time I’m not going to do it with statistics. Well, not exactly. You see, as scary as those moments are, when they do actually happen and get reported, the first thing I think is, “Wow. Dodged that one!” That might sound a little crass to the uninitiated but you need to understand. I spend way more time in the air than the average person. I practically live on the wind, over here people - and the thing is, I’ve never been a part of anything crazy like a door ripping off, a child getting sent to the wrong city, or even a raving lunatic being carted off a flight. Although, I have been close to being that “raving lunatic” a couple of times when the flight I’m on runs out of Sun Chips. I’m kidding of course. What I’m trying to get at is this: not only are the odds against anything wild happening to you, but the odds get astronomically larger after something happens to another flight. So let the news of these insane inflight incidents soothe your fears and be glad it wasn’t you!
