Florida Georgia Line just nabbed their first GRAMMY nods for “Meant to Be,” their collaboration with Bebe Rexha, and they are definitely grateful.

“We have so much respect for the GRAMMYs and, you know what, I wouldn’t say it’s overdue,” Brian Kelley, tells “Billboard.” “I think timing is everything and this timing is perfect. We’re super thankful and humble to be nominated. ‘Meant to Be’ has taken us on a crazy, crazy, crazy ride.” Adds Tyler Hubbard, “It kind of feels like we’re the new kids on the block again.”

The song received a nod for best country duo/group performance, although many thought, thanks to its success, it would be recognized in some of the major categories, like song of the year, but FGL isn’t about to get greedy.

“Regardless of what happens, we know it’s going to be a great night,” Tyler shares. “We’ve already kind of won in our books.”

  • ONE MORE THING! Tyler also opened up about the backlash he's received from pro-gun fans ever since he posted his support for TOMS founder Blake Mycoskie's End Gun Violence Together campaign. “A lot of people misinterpreted my videos, which is to be expected,” Hubbard, who is a gun owner, says.  “I am not totally surprised by that, but at the same time, I wish people could hear my heart and I wish that they could hear what we’re really trying to do here.” As for the support form his fellow artists, he notes, “I’d like to see more support to be honest. I would like to see more of my friends speaking up about it.”
