Lionel Richie Announces First Country Album is Coming

Lionel Richie has written plenty of Country songs and now he’s ready to dive in more. Wednesday night at the CMAs, the “Hello” singer announced that he’s releasing his first Country album.
Richie explained "I am so vested in country music, you have no idea." He is planning to craft and release it, but there’s no timeline. He did add "The answer is soon. It has to be soon, because later is not an option right now."
He ticked off some Country accomplishments like 2012 “Tuskegee” album and his work with Kenny Rogers, including the mega hit “Lady.” “Tuskegee” saw Lionel re-record many of his hits with Rogers, Willie Nelson, Alabama, Shania Twain, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney and Blake Shelton, and others.
