Marriage is hard, but it’s even more difficult when both partners are “alphas,” according to Trisha Yearwood in an interview with Us Weekly. While promoting her new line of pet supplies, Trisha explained that it’s a “balance” for her and husband Garth Brooks after spending so much time together during the pandemic.
She said a big question for the pair was “How do we stay alphas, do our own thing, but be a couple?” Last month on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Garth said the couple’s time together in quarantine made their bond even stronger, saying his idea was that since they were stuck together they should “just attack some of the hardest things over the 15 years that bugs one of us.”
That’s a risky move when you’re stuck at home together with nowhere to go, but Trisha says their relationship is “better now than ever,” so obviously Garth’s plan worked. She added, “You sit down, and you talk it through and that gets you better when you get to the other side.”
