Florida Georgia Line held their first-ever FGL fest this weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and prior to the show they handed out a very special gift to the Indy police department
The duo surprised the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department with a new police dog, a German shepherd, named Sarge, who Brian Kelley and his wife Brittany adopted at 10 weeks old. When they went to have him trained they realized he might have what it takes to be in the K-9 unit.
"We are so excited that Sarge will live a life of keeping people and his officers safe," FGL shared. "Being able to give back is something in our hearts and last night in Indianapolis was a moment we won't forget."
And the police department is very thankful for the gift. “Thank you, Florida Georgia Line for IMPD's newest K9 partner! #WeAreIMPD," the department shared on Facebook, with IMPD Segeant Grace Sibley, noting the pooch will be used as an explosive detective dog.
