BLANCO BROWN COVERING JOHN DENVER IS THE REMAKE YOU DIDN'T KNOW YOU NEEDED

Although Blanco Brown has had some country chart success through his pairing with Parmalee on the #1 country hit "Just The Way" as well as his own line-dance favorite "The Git-Up," not many people would associate the rapper/producer with the country music of decades past...but he's about to change that perception.
At the request of John Denver's estate, Brown was asked to take the classic "Take Me Home, Country Roads" and give it a fresh coat of paint, so to speak. The estate sent him the original studio recordings in the hopes that Brown would put a new spin on the iconic song and bring it into the 21st century. Brown happily obliged.
"Getting asked by the John Denver estate to put a new spin on this song was just incredible," recalls Blanco. "I remember hearing this song at football games and it always had that big anthem feel. When the estate shared the original tracks, I could hear John’s banter before and after, so I really got a feel of what John was feeling when he sang this hit. I just love this song and we got to toss some 808 beats and high hats on it to give it a whole new energy.”
