Yesterday would have been the 100th birthday of American music legend Hank Williams. The iconic country singer would help establish what country music was and is for generations after, even though he passed at the young age of 29. On the 100th anniversary of his birth, a living country legend - Alan Jackson - paid tribute.
Jackson has referred to Hank Williams in song several times, most notably in his Top 5 country hit "Midnight In Montgomery" and Alan was part of the all-star crew of musicians on Jimmy Buffett's version of Hank's "Hey Good Lookin'." Yesterday, Alan hopped on social media to pay tribute to the icon.
Picking up his guitar, Alan ran through a short but heartfelt version of the Williams classic "Your Cheatin' Heart," before putting the guitar aside and addressing the camera. "Happy 100th birthday, Hank. I don’t think I’d be here without you."
